Surgical placement of implants
Overview
After a thorough preoperative check of all diagnostic parameters (X-ray examination, study casts) and in combination with the prosthetically guided philosophy of Implantology (i.e. to place the implants in the corresponding position of the missing teeth and not only where there is bone), the case is planned.
The procedure may require the placement of a bone graft where there is a lack of bone. The contribution of the osteointegration measuring device is important.
The placement of implants with these conditions is done safely in the dental office under local anesthesia and is completed in one appointment.
Instructions after implant placement
- Rest for the rest of the day after surgery.
- Avoid strenuous work and travel for the next 48 hours and refrain from strenuous exercise for 1 week after surgery.
- Healing is faster when you get adequate rest.
- After staying in a horizontal position for a long time, it is advisable to get up slowly to avoid getting dizzy.
- The stitches are removed in 7 days.
What you need to know
Dental implants are artificial roots that are surgically placed in the jaw to support dental objects such as crowns, bridges or denture prostheses.
People who have lost one or more teeth due to injury, disease or other causes may benefit from dental implants.
The procedure includes patient assessment, planning of the surgery, surgical placement of the implant and monitoring of recovery.
Dental implants provide a stable and natural feeling, allowing for natural chewing and functional loading. They also preserve the bone mass of the jaw.
The patient must carefully follow the dentist's instructions for post-operative care, including proper oral hygiene and following the recheck schedule.
